Let’s start the day, and what better way to kick it off than by getting your dose of Music Quotes and Coffee. Today it’s Friday, September 20, 2019.
Regrets. I had a few, but then again too few to mention. That’s one of the lines of the song “My Way”. And with that I started the day. By realizing that our time is short, and that instead of having regrets we need to start acting.
As the legend goes, Jeff Bezos created a mental model called the Regret Minimization Framework. It basically starts with the question: In certain years, will I regret doing this? If the answer is yes, then go for it. If the answer is No, then don’t even bother.
In today’s quote, I took one from Joseph Campbell. Which basically states the same framework, but he takes it up a notch. So don’t live in regret. Avoid saying “I should have done it”. Instead go for it. You will get more by doing than by regretting.
“Regrets are illuminations that come too late.”
Joseph Campbell
