Some days all things seem to go our way. We hit a home run and things go exactly as we planned. We get a great high as a consequence and we feel on top of the world.

Next day things don’t go as we planned. The deal is broken, somebody says something to you that ticks you off and everything turns to black. On those two examples, we have to keep calm. We don’t need to get too excited or too sad about them.

The events that happen to us should not affect us. The things or events that happen to us, only have the power that we give them. Even on the darkest of the events, there’s always a lesson that we can learn from it, if we pay enough attention. We should see events as they are: something that happened. And we should stop categorizing them as “good” or as “bad”. We should see all events on the bright side and avoid disturbance. It’s hard, and it takes time. But we can all get there.
